Mathew gave up after an accident but gave it one more go.

My name is Mathew, I'm 26, and I'm from Wollongong.

How I Got Here.

In my younger days, I was an active young man I played sports for many years. But a few years ago I had a severe car accident resulting in a lower back injury. After that, I was too scared to get back on the field and my health suffered. I become less active and my diet wasn't the best, so I pretty much gave up on sports.

There was a point where I was living in pain every day. I couldn't walk long periods of time without significant pain. It came to point after a conversation with my Physio where they said I would never play sport again due to irreversible damage.

I was really disheartened and disappointed but wasn't ready to give up.

Getting Started.

Between the Dr and my Exercise Physio, we came up with a plan. To get back to playing sport and my happy healthy self.

I wanted to lose weight and be healthy for a few reasons. Firstly I was unhappy with that way I looked. I wasn't comfortable in my body. But most importantly I wanted to be active and pain-free. I wanted to live a lifestyle free of prescribed medications and instead be replaced with a healthy diet and regular exercise.

I found The Man Shake funnily enough through my sports. I love my Nrl and love my St George Illawarra Dragons. I have seen The Man Shake advertised whilst watching the footy. After some research and great stories, I knew it was time to give it a crack and I have never looked back.

I have tried other "shakes" but they didn't leave me feeling full. They were also packed full of sugar and didn't taste the best to put it nicely. The Man Shake was quick, easy and tasty! The meal plans were easy to follow and I never felt hungry. Whether it was a Coffee Man Shake with some ice and a shot of espresso or simple chocolate shake it fitted in perfectly.

So far on The Man Shake, I have lost 23kg.

Since I've lost weight the biggest difference would be my health! I am now living a mostly pain-free life. I'm off prescribed medication and I can now exercise regularly with no repercussions, I fell much more energetic now.

By far my biggest roadblock was maintaining a balance, going out in social settings and trying not to fall off the bandwagon. I overcome this by making different choices when going out and remembering you still need to enjoy yourself and you can buckle down tomorrow.

What would you say to somebody looking to lose weight?

If anyone is thinking about starting the program I would say go for it and don't look back. You won't regret it. I really mean this when I say it changed my life. I can't recommend it enough!

I still continue my shakes for a quick, healthy and easy breaky. They continue to be a staple in my diet. It's a marathon, not a sprint. It will take a long time. It's a lifestyle change, not a diet.
