We all love Christmas and the festive season, but we don’t enjoy the gift that Christmas leaves around our bellies!
Did you know that most blokes will pile on a massive 2-5 kg over this period? It’s unsurprising that come January, 90% of people’s New Year’s resolution is to lose weight.
Fear not! If you follow my seven simple tips to avoiding a Christmas blowout, you’ll enjoy all the food you want and keep that belly at bay.
1. Start the day right
Start the day right and fuel up with a Man Shake breakfast. Not only will it get your metabolism fired up for the eating ahead, but it’ll help with overeating later on in the day.
2. Skip the boring snacks
Don’t fill up on boring bread and crackers, you can have that any time! Pick out what you’ll actually enjoy, and wait for that. The main course is what you’re all there for anyway, so load up on the proteins and salads!
3. Don’t Drink and Dine
Don’t eat while you’re drinking beers. Your body will prioritise breaking down the alcohol over food, turning more of it into fat. Have your meal, then a few beers in the afternoon if you choose to.
4. Priorities
Remember why you’re celebrating. The festive season isn’t just about the food, it’s a time of year to celebrate all of the good things in your life, especially friends and family.
5. So much room for activities!
Get involved in some activities! You’ll be away from the food, and you’ll be active too. A game of backyard cricket is a must, just don’t be the guy who plays like he’s opening for Australia in the Ashes…
6. Use a smaller plate
This one has a little science behind it. Studies have shown that you’ll eat up to 30% less when you use a smaller plate. The best bit? You’ll think you’re eating more when you pile it up!
7. Christmas Day (not week!)
Remember, Christmas Day only goes for 24 hours! Don’t let loose and then keep the party going til New Years.
